WTVG-- February 4, 2007 - So you got out of bed this morning and you complained about how chilly you felt. Imagine spending the night outside and volunteering to do it.
That's exactly what a group of boy scouts did last evening.
We visited a place northwest Ohio's Boy Scouts kiddingly call Camp Alaska. Troop 27 discovered far better than most of us just how cold below zero temperatures can be.
The fire wasn't enough to keep these kids warm. At least one boy slept in every layer of clothing he brought with him. Seven scouts stayed out overnight. Everybody struggled to stay warm, but the boys fared better than the adults.
Because they went below zero last night, the Scouts earned a special Boy Scout patch.
